VIDEO: Multimodal imaging key to diagnosing retinal conditions
In this video interview, Priya Vakharia, MD, describes a challenging case study that was presented at AAO 2023. Initial imaging scans showed normal results, despite the patient presenting with intermittent blurring of vision. It wasn't until they did an OCT Angiography that they discovered an area of retinal non-perfusion, which led them to a subsequent diagnosis of a branch retinal artery occlusion. According to Dr. Vakharia, tapping into different imaging tests demonstrates the true power -- and necessity -- of multimodal imaging in the retinal clinic.
