Use of OCT in the quantification of fluid in AMD

This article highlights OCT as an aid in identifying and quantifying abnormal retinal fluids, as well as anatomic changes within the retina. Stela Vujosevic, MD, PhD argues that intraretinal and subretinal fluid volumes should be considered when making retreatment decisions for wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The author also discusses the use of AI to analyze macular fluid and she presents sample images of AI software applied to SPECTRALIS OCT.
